Ben Avery Shooting Facility, PISTOL RANGE 4 The Ben Avery Shooting Facility is the largest public operated shooting facility in the United States, with numerous ranges. Use the following to ensure you find the exact location of PISTOL RANGE 4. Look for this sign along Carefree Highway and enter here. The road will head north and curve left (northwest). PASS these two buildings and signs. Stay on the main road. Do not turn in. DO NOT CHECK IN AT MAIN RANGE. Proceed directly to RANGE 4. Enter the dirt parking lot on the right where you see the PISTOL RANGES sign along the road. Keep left and look for the PISTOL - 4 range which is in the middle of the three accessible ranges.
